This informative one-hour session will focus on Energy and the Environment: The two big "E" words that are challenging mill managers across the globe. It’s no easy task being in charge of the energy side of a pulp and paper mill these days. Mill operators are faced with increasing environmental demands and higher energy costs, while at the same time trying to improve their mill’s overall performance.
RISI and recovery boiler experts, Clyde Bergmann Anthony-Ross, are teaming up to provide practical advice and in-depth information on how you can lower emissions from your recovery boiler in order to improve costs and efficiency. With input from RISI engineers, this special online seminar will also take a look at the mill cost structures in a global context.
After the presentations, there will be time for Q&A, so be sure to have your questions ready!

Sulfur Dioxide Emissions Reductions from Chemical Recovery Boilers
Roger has over 30 years of expertise in the boiler industry and will talk about a new technology, Stacked Air Systems (SAS), which has helped to improve SO2 emissions in the pulp and paper sector. With real-life case studies and mill references, Roger will focus on the operational benefits including throughput, runtime, and reduction of other emissions.

Energy Costs in a Global Context
Ville holds a Master of Science degree in Forest Products Technology from Helsinki University of Technology, Finland and has experience from several European pulp and paper mills. Ville’s presentation will look at the cost competitiveness of pulp and paper mills worldwide with a special focus on energy costs.
