Repulpable splicing tapes
Adhesive Research Inc. has announced the addition of three high-performance repulpable splicing tapes to its comprehensive splicing product line. ARclad 0040 and ARclad 0041 are appropriate for roll finishing, roll tabbing, core starting, butt splicing, and perfect splicing applications. ARclad 0079 is a clear, double-faced splicing tape with an easy-to-use release liner. All three meet TAPPI UM213 Procedure A standards.

Chip classifier
The latest software upgrade for the Gradex chip classifier is now available. Chip samples can be analyzed individually or in multiples using the autofeed mode. Each sample is fed into a hexagonal drum and analyzed using a reciprocating motion. Wood chip fractions are weighed and classified, and the machine automatically calculates and stores the weight values and cleans the drum in preparation for the next sample analysis.

Internet quality information system
TestCentral is an Internet quality information system (IQIS) that collects paper mill data from test labs, control systems, and plant information systems. IQIS consolidates data into a relational database and presents it to Web browsers via a set of standard pre-formatted reports. The reports deliver the data in both tabular and graphical formats, and the information can be extracted and/or captured at the desktop for local analysis and storage by the user.

Profile measurement
TAPIO Technologies has added a new feature to TAPIO Analyzers—the wire marking and shrinkage profile measurement. When the wire marking is detected on the CD strip, the data can be further manipulated with the Analyzer to detect wavelength changes of the wiremarking. Shrinkage measurement is done with an extra high resolution TPS sensor to detect the wire marking and other very small scale variations on the paper surface.

Wall-mounted CO2 analyzer
The CEA 266 is a wall-mounted infrared CO2 gas analyzer contained in a water and dust tight NEMA 4X enclosure with digital display readout. The sample gas is continuously drawn into the unit through a built-in air pump. A self-draining water trap and dust filter are also provided. The unit includes 0-5 VDC and 4-20 mA outputs and two user-adjustable alarms and contact relays.
