Thomas E. Gestrich has been named sr. v.p., consumer packaging. Gestrich will serve on the senior leadership team for the company.

John T. Paprocki has been named to the board of directors. Paprocki will replace Thomas J. Kuber, who has stepped down from the board.,

BOWATER INC.

James H. Dorton has been promoted to the newly-created position of v.p., business planning and strategy, coated paper division. William G. Harvey, v.p. and treas., will assume responsibility for the company's investor relations activities. Tony K. Bond has been promoted to v.p., business planning and strategy, newsprint division.

LOUISIANA-PACIFIC CORP.

F. Jeff Duncan has been promoted to the newly-created position of v.p. and CIO, and M. Ward Hubbell has been named v.p., corporate affairs.

MOHAWK PAPER MILLS INC.

Tammy Edwards has been named business mgr., specialty converting. Katherine Michaelson has been appointed specifications sales rep., Maria Aggelonitis has been named district sales mgr., Kathleen Giblin has been named specifications sales rep., Mike Brown has been appointed district sales mgr., and Rachael Reed has been named specifications sales rep. Richard LaBonge has assumed responsibility as regional mgr., Northeast region; John Hubbard has been promoted to regional mgr. of the newly-created South Central region; and Shauna Ritter has relocated from Wisconsin to Colorado to work as district sales mgr. in the western part of the region.

PROCTOR & GAMBLE INC.

Ernesto Zedillo, president of Mexico from 1994 to 2000, has been named to the company's board of directors.

RAYONIER

Kent E. Kvaal has joined the company as gen. mgr. of its new NovaThin absorbent core business. Kvaal will oversee all aspects of the growing unit, including research, operations, and marketing.

SONOCO PRODUCTS CO.

Kenneth B. Mason has been promoted to staff v.p., human resources, industrial products. Charles W. Coker Jr. has been named div. v.p. and gen. mgr., protective packaging.

STORA ENSO NORTH AMERICA

Tor Suther has been named pres. and gen. mgr. of the Port Hawkesbury, N.S., mill.

GREAT NORTHERN CORP.

David Cramer has joined the company as cust. svc. mgr., container group.

WEYERHAEUSER CO.

Jim Stark, watershed analysis team leader, Western Timberlands business, has been promoted to lead the company's nationwide Environmental Education Initiative (EEI). EEI provides K-12 educators with hands-on, real-world settings to explore natural resource management questions with students. In addition to managing EEI, Stark will participate in regional and national forums.

Rick Pallante has been promoted to global product line mgr. of the company's paper and paperboard converting business unit.

GIBRALTAR PACKAGING GROUP INC.

Mark Lessor has been promoted to v.p., sales, for the company. This position expands Lessor's responsibilities to include management of all sales and marketing functions for the company's three facilities.

LONGVIEW FIBRE CO.

Walter H. Glenn III has been appointed sales mgr. for the company's new Bowling Green, Ky., container plant

John Knuths, pres. and COO, Roscoe Manufacturing Co., Madison, S. Dak., has been elected to the board of directors of the Construction Industry Manufacturers Association (CIMA).

ODVA

Frank Wood has been named exec. dir. of the Open DeviceNet Vendor Association (ODVA) Inc. Wood will replace William Moss, who has served as exec. dir. since ODVA's inception in 1994. In addition to the ODVA post, Wood will also serve as the exec. dir. of ControlNet International.
