2000 A new year, a new look: The millennium of PPI
By Jim Kenny
A new year, a new millennium and a new PPI. Welcome to the new-look Pulp & Paper International…
As with many old friends, it can sometimes be disconcerting to see a familiar face presented in an unfamiliar guise after an extensive makeover. Hopefully though, you will find that the latest re-design presents PPI in a more modern light that reflects the fast-moving times in which we all live.
Much of the work that has gone into the new look has been aimed at making PPI a brighter, clearer read. But underneath the modern image, PPI remains dedicated to the same qualities that have been the foundation of the publication for the past 40 years, serving its readers with the same quality and integrity that have been the hallmarks of the title over four decades.
The new millennium is certain to present everyone with a wide variety of changes as the pace of technological innovation moves ever faster. The pulp and paper industry will be no exception and everyone in the sector is likely to find themselves faced with the challenges and opportunities that such changes will bring, including PPI.
By updating the look of the magazine, we at PPI have taken the first step in embracing the new millennium. We will not stop there. Serving our readers long into the future means constantly adapting and refocusing to deal with the issues of the day. We believe that the years 2000 and beyond offer the potential to bring a number of positive concepts to pulp and papermakers around the world. Many of these will provide a refreshing impetus for growth and innovation in the future. And when such ideas need a forum for debate in whatever form, you can trust that PPI will be there for all our readers around the world.
Best wishes for the new millennium,
Jim Kenny, Editorial director, PPI.
