ADHESIVES

Adhesives Research Europe has developed a new paster tab system, which is designed to improve roll-to-roll transfers on paper machines. The UK company says that downtime can be avoided with its tabs, which use ARclad 8345 and ARclad 8395 - two types of repulpable tapes - for quick 'put downs' during transfers. The tabs hold the leading edge of the splice to prevent airlift and wrinkles. The paster tab tapes have been designed using an oval die-cut process, which is said to improve consistency and reliability. Fax: +44 1371 878 186 or mail to:lwoods@mail.adhesivesresearch.com

MEASUREMENT

The DiaMon TN/TP online monitor has been developed by Bran + Luebbe for the continuous measurement of total nitrogen and phosphorus. The company says its analyzer is becoming an important part of the monitoring and control process as domestic and industrial wastewater treatment plants work toward compliance with statutory discharge limits. The supplier claims that monitoring the total nitrogen and phosphorus in the final effluent can be done online with this equipment. The unit can handle up to four streams at a time. Operation, recalibration and drift correction are fully automatic with the analyzer. Tel: +1 847 520 0700 or visit:www.branluebbe.com

METALLIZED PAPERS

A new line of holographic metallized papers that are said to look exactly like plastic laminates has been put together by Metallized Products. The company claims that its papers are easier to process, as well as being environmentally friendlier than laminates. They can be used in gift-wrap, packaging and labeling applications. The new papers feature brilliant patterns, including rainbows, dots, crystals and other styles. The US supplier says that the papers provide better lay-flat ARclad repulpable tapes from Adhesives Research Europe properties than laminates at a more competitive price.Fax: +1 781 729 9093, mail to:sales@webmpi.com or visit:www.webmpi.com
