ALBERTA NEWSPRINT COMPANY
Steam Chief & Assistant Pulping & Utilities Superintendent
Whitecourt, Alberta
While many newsprint mills across North America have struggled, Alberta Newsprint Company (ANC) is a highly profitable organization that is North America's most efficient producer of premium newsprint and one of the lowest cost, highest margin producers in the industry. A joint venture between Stern Group and West Fraser Timber Company Ltd, ANC began production in 1990 and continues to manufacture exceptionally high quality newsprint products, which are used in a wide variety of publications. Using Canada's fastest newsprint machine, ANC has been producing approximately 270,000 tonnes of newsprint per year.
As a non-union company, ANC has a unique corporate culture in which narrow job classifications have been scrapped, team members are expected to ask questions, share information and look for better ways of doing things. The company prides itself on having a mill-wide team approach to achieving excellence and a dedication to continuous quality improvement.
