Canfor Pulp is currently hiring for a Purchasing Analyst. The position is located in Prince George, BC and will help ensure a smooth procurement process for our Canfor Pulp's 3 mills.
You will provide in-depth supply chain analysis for the Pulp and Paper Group's Purchasing and Inventory Department. In addition to providing analytical support and relief purchasing, you can expect to:
- help develop and maintain efficient procurement technology, tools and processes
- provide detailed market analysis including tracking commodity trends and economic conditions
- evaluate and benchmark targeted spending to help ensure a superior competitive position is maintained
- organize and maintain the spend database and contract files
- facilitate tri-mill user meetings for common strategies to market
- develop the skill set and experience to progress to Operational Purchasing and Contract Management.
Forward thinking and innovative, you have the ability to research and evaluate critical components of the procurement process. You ideally have a relevant business degree combined with enrolment in the PMAC program. Several years of pulp and paper or manufacturing experience would also be an asset, along with previous experience using CMMS databases and business intelligence tools as well as an understanding of Asset Management best practices. A valid BC driver's licence and transportation are essential for this tri-mill position.
