The Visy Pulp and Paper Mill located in Tumut, NSW, Australia has recently completed a massive expansion phase, and we are seeking to fill the position of Mechanical Engineer Paper Machine.  This role will be pivotal in the execution of mechanical maintenance activities in a designated area within the bigger paper machine area. The position will report to the Paper Plant Engineer and will need to focus on supporting the operating units.

A key responsibility will be taking a leadership role in all mechanical maintenance activities in the designated area of responsibility, this will focus on; HSE, Budget / Cost control, OEE. In more detail it will include: work backlog management, shutdown management, people leadership, and breakdown technical assistance. RCM, RCA, DOM and minor project implementation

Key Responsibilities:

• Take a leadership role in all aspects of HSE
• Maximize OEE through efficient leadership
• Directly support the operating units achieve production budgets
• Coordinate external suppliers in all aspects of maintenance
• Identify and implement maintenance improvement opportunities
• Optimize the utilization of our CMMS
• Carry out DOM and implement solutions
• Analyze and report on paper machine performance
• Assist in achieving operational KPI's
• Investigate failures using RCA techniques
• Develop maintenance using preventative and predictive tools

The successful applicant will possess most of the following:

• A sound understanding of HS&E policies and procedures
• Advanced knowledge in RCM & RCA
• Advanced knowledge in the use of a recognized CMMS.
• A track record as a maintenance engineer in an industrial environment
• Experience in the Pulp & Paper industry will be highly regarded
• Knowledge of developing and maintaining work flow systems
• Ability to work in a multifunctional team
• Excellent communications skills
• Minimum trade and a diploma in mechanical engineering
• A tertiary qualification in mechanical engineering will be highly regarded
• Problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
