Senior Vice President, RISI Forecasting & Analysis

RISI is looking for a leader to help drive the next phase in our evolution. Reporting to the CEO, this position requires a balanced individual with unique knowledge of the Pulp and Paper industry and an ability to drive forward and run our strong global economic analysis forecasting business.

About Us

RISI is the leading information provider to the Forest Products industry. We are an independent team of editors, economists, and engineers producing valuable information for forest products organizations. We are the only B2B information/data provider to cover the global forest products industry across all key grades and regions. Our team has offices in eight countries and a collective 1000+ years of experience in Forest Products.

Our current audience is the entire set of top producing paper companies of the world, their suppliers, the financial services industry, the paper buyers/end users, and the merchants of the world. We put our content quality and customers first and have a history of success.

Our prospects are strong. We need a leader to envision these prospects with us, marry them with the changing industry, and drive them forward. This is an executive level role responsible for one of the most critical (and successful) businesses doing this worldwide.

Required Skills (in order of importance):

  • 10-15+ years of experience within multiple facets of the forest products industry

  • 5+ years leadership experience within a forest products information organization, forest products consulting organization, a strategic analysis role for a producer/supplier, or similar

  • Strong business sense, understands global issues and their impact on forest products

  • Strong business management: P&L analysis, proposals, can balance risks vs. investment, etc.

  • Ability to connect with customers, economists/analysts, other management, operational teams, and create valuable information products

  • Strong presence and knowledge are required; ability to give board presentations, act politically savvy, dissect global forecasts, and provide constructive criticism to junior team members

  • Understanding of economics principals: supply/demand/imports/exports/etc.

  • Ability to work with multiple constituents; difficult personalities; utilizing many motivational styles
