RISI serves an international commodities-based industry whose products are primarily subscription-based business information reports. These data-intensive reports serve all facets of the industry, including producers, suppliers and investors. The company is in the process of migrating many of its traditional print-based products to a suite of data services and productivity tools.

Position Summary

We seek a talented web producer/developer who will play an important role in web product development for a growing B2B media company. The ideal candidate is well versed in digital product front-end development with hands-on experience in web technologies. The producer will help to produce, develop, implement and maintain new and existing web based products and services. Web Producer will work to implement and enhance various digital products in a variety of technologies, including HTML, CSS, and Alfresco Web CMS.

Nature and Scope of Position

• This is a very hands-on role that will be responsible for producing new, and extending existing, web based products.
• Hands on CSS, JavaScript, XML, DHTML work.
• Integration of product designs and functionality with Alfresco Web CMS.
• The candidate will need to work collaboratively in a matrix organization with all layers and departments of the corporation.
• Working with business unit leaders, editorial staff, sales, marketing, IT, 3rd party service providers and offshore development teams.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Implement front-end improvements to existing products or new products.
• Hands on CSS, JavaScript, XML and DHTML coding.

Technical Requirements

• Expert with front-end scripting including HTML; DHTML; JavaScript; CSS.
• Experience with web application architecture and strong RDBMS understanding.
• Solid understanding of cross-platform, cross-channel, cross-browser compatibility concerns.
• Expert JavaScript coding experience and familiar with the JavaScript framework jQuery.
• Experience with server-side scripting languages, JSP.
• Exposure to object 0riented language principles.
• Web content management expertise, including XML configuration and rapid-templating languages such as Velocity.
• Alfresco experience strongly desired.

General Requirements

• Good task management skills with the ability to work in a team environment in situations in which ambiguity and multiple priorities are likely.
• Excellent written communication skills are important as the organization is highly distributed.
• 3+ years professional Web development experience.
• BS/BA or equivalent education experience.
• A high task load is expected. You should be able to work within tight deadlines while exhibiting exemplary time management and task prioritization.
• Meticulous attention to detail.
• Positive attitude and professionalism in the workplace.
• A great sense of humor is always appreciated.
