BRUSSELS, April 29, 2004 - The second biennial Tissue World Americas (TWA), September 21-23, 2004 in Miami, will feature a comprehensive conference program designed to provide tissue professionals worldwide with the solutions and technologies they need to meet their specific challenges.

Featuring more than three-dozen technical presentations, roundtables, and workshops, the conference program will consist of leading industry experts addressing a wide range of critical issues revolving around innovation and technology. The conference will begin on September 21st with an Opening Address from Mr. Joseph Raccuia, President of SCA Tissue North America.

  • The Opening Session will include:

  • Innovation That Drives Business Results, Mike Burandt, Georgia-Pacific

  • North & South American Tissue Developments, Andrew Battista, RISI

  • Technology ? The Road to the Future, Guy Goldstein, Guy Goldstein Consulting.

  • Two special presentations are:

  • 10 Best Practices for Achieving Work Innovation in Tissue Companies, Dave Severson, Harvard University

  • Benchmarking in the Tissue Business, Michael Jones, Paperloop.

In addition, top industry experts will present 37 technical presentations on a variety of topics ranging from TAD Technology Configurations to Future Vision for Converting Systems, from such global companies as PCMC, Fabio Perini SpA, Dow Corning, Metso Paper Karlstad, and Buckman Laboratories.

The program also includes a two-hour workshop on Towel Printing: Extending the Challenge, presented by David Root from Georgia-Pacific; and a one-hour Roundtable on TAD Energy Consumption: Challenges and Opportunities, presented by Fred Christiansen from Jacobs Engineering.

Meanwhile, more than 100 suppliers from around the world will showcase their latest products and technologies over 33,000 square feet of exhibit space in the Miami Beach Convention Center. These figures already surpass the inaugural event with several months still remaining before the 2004 show.

"This is a must-attend event for all tissue professionals," said Ria Van den Bogaert, Show Director for the Tissue World series of events. "TWA is the only venue in North America where attendees can discover all the latest trends and insights in the conference program and then experience the actual technologies first hand on the show floor."

The original Tissue World was launched in Nice in 1993, and has grown from 35 exhibitors and 500 attendees to more than 160 exhibitors and 3,500 attendees in just 10 years. The Nice show is held in odd numbered years and TWA is held in even numbered years. The Americas event debuted in 2002 to provide North and South American tissue professionals with a venue closer to their home base. The new Tissue World China will be launched in December 2004 in Shanghai.

A newly launched website, www.tissueworld.com, was created to provide tissue professionals worldwide with comprehensive news, updates, and details on these three major expositions and conferences that effect the tissue marketplace.

In addition to its many magazines, newsletters, websites and conferences, Paperloop, Inc. produces international tradeshows including the biennial Tissue World Americas in Miami, USA, the original Tissue World in Nice, France, CMM Japan in Tokyo, and CMM International in Chicago, the only converting-exclusive event that brings all the converting segments together under one roof.
