CMM launches Consumer Packaging & Converting Connection Event
NEW YORK, July 9, 2004 - In response to the growing demand of consumer packaged goods (CPGs) companies turning to converting materials and machinery suppliers for total systems solutions approaches to help them meet the needs of influential retailers and time-starved consumers, CMM International organizers have created a comprehensive conference to run alongside the re-energized exposition next April in Chicago.
The Consumer Packaging & Converting Connection Event is a uniquely positioned, by-invitation-only conference that will bring together end-user executives with specific package purchasing authority and converting materials and machinery suppliers with innovative solutions to consumer goods package converting. Developed and produced by Packaging Strategies, the premier organizer of competitive intelligence conference events for consumer packaged goods companies, the event will take place April 18 and 19, 2005, during the first two days of CMM International in Chicago.
The dynamic program and special luncheon-networking event will feature presentations from leading packaging and consumer trend experts. Session topics will cover a broad range of packaging, converting, and supply chain topics and offer solutions critical to packaged goods companies.
Produced in tandem with the general 3-day tracked CMM International Conference, this program is yet another dimension that CMM show management has added to an already full dance card of new enhancements at a re-energized CMM International 2005. Special process-focused Pavilions and adjacent Solution Theaters sponsored by the leading trade associations will also be featured throughout the show floor to provide converters with additional educational opportunities.
According to Ian Johnston, CMM President, the Consumer Packaging & Converting Connection Event is unique in that packaging professionals will learn about the latest technologies and trends alongside their converter-partners in the conference sessions and networking luncheon. "Then," he adds, "they can walk the CMM show floor together to see the actual technologies in use."
"Although the program will target senior-level consumer packaging professionals, and will be organized as a separate conference from the general CMM Conference Program, attendees will have the opportunity to visit the show floor and engage in meaningful dialogue with leading solution providers," said Johnston. "Packaging professionals are becoming increasingly involved with the production side of the equation and our consumer packaging-focused event will provide them with a unique opportunity to have a hands-on experience with the latest technologies in everything ranging from electronic/digital workflow technologies to the threats and opportunities of off-shore manufacturing and converting."
David Luttenberger, Director of Packaging Strategies and a certified packaging professional, says this unique conference event targets the total solutions approach consumer packaged goods professionals are seeking from their converter/machinery supplier-partners. "The delineation between converted package suppliers and their end-users customers is blurred. The vision of programs like CMM's Consumer Packaging & Converting Connection Event clearly sees the two sides coming closer to jointly develop and deliver highly functional packaging solutions using materials, machinery, and operational processes that accelerate the time-to-market process. The addition of this program has already generated additional awareness among consumer packaged goods producers we've spoken to," he explains. "Consumer packaged goods companies and converters alike will be clamoring for multiples seats at this by-invitation event."
