Paperloop acquires Timber Market Report to further expand forest products coverage
BOSTON, Mass., Sept. 14, 2005 - Paperloop announced today that it has acquired Timber Market Report ("TMR") from Orlando, Florida-based Gemini Solutions, Inc. Gemini Solutions develops software and information services for the forestry and real estate industries.
TMR is a web-based software that gives companies involved in buying and selling timber an objective view of transaction prices in a market that traditionally has had little price transparency. Subscribers can easily view and analyze all transactions from both the buy-side and sell-side on a real-time basis.
Developed with input from consulting foresters, TMR features extensive online tools including stumpage price reports, price analysis and a powerful search function. Subscribers have the option of contributing their own prices to the service, which enables them to use the tools to archive, manage and analyze their transactions online.
Paperloop CEO Rod Young stated, "TMR is a great fit with Paperloop's high standards and vigorous price collection methodology because its developers clearly understand the market's need for unbiased information. This acquisition is one more step in our strategy to solidify Paperloop's position as the leader in forest products price collection and reporting capabilities."
Gemini Solutions' founder and TMR developer Scott Phillips will join Paperloop on a consulting basis. More information about TMR can be found at www.timbermarketreport.com.
