BEDFORD, Mass., Oct. 6, 2005 - Paperloop, the premier news and information provider for the forest products industry, today announced the tremendous success of Transport Symposium 16 in Antwerp, Belgium, September 26?28, 2005.
Over 1,000 professionals from the forest products logistics industry convened at the Antwerp Expo for the three-day conference and exhibition to hear the latest trends in the industry. Approximately 600 conference delegates and 115 exhibiting companies representing 34 countries from around the world marked the growing international influence of the symposium.
"In recent years, as the forest products industry has undergone dramatic regional and global changes, Transport Symposium has established itself as the place where those trends and issues can be debated and discussed," said Paul Doiron, president of the International Forest Products Transport Association (IFPTA).
The Transport Symposium Conference Program, produced in association with International Forest Products Transport Association (IFPTA) and Paperloop, featured expert speakers participating in panel discussions covering a variety of topics including: Tomorrow's Pulp Markets; Transportation Infrastructure and the Environment; Short Sea Prospects; Tracing, Tracking and Security; and China, India, and Asia Today. The associated Transport Symposium Exhibition showcased some of the new ideas and innovations from the leading companies in the industry.
"Transport Symposium has become a strong platform for the forest products logistics business," said Rod Young, CEO of Paperloop. Through an open dialogue, the symposium is providing a framework for the industry to achieve continued improvement and discover new opportunities. "Just about everyone I spoke to told me that this show was one of the best yet," said Mr. Young, "and we are proud to be part of this unique event."
The next Transport Symposium will be held October 15-17, 2007, at the Mobile Convention Center in Mobile, Alabama. Complete information about the Transport Symposium conference and exhibition can be found online at www.transportsymposium.com.
