RISI'S North American forest products conference to explore corporate restructuring, tight energy markets

BEDFORD, Mass., July 11, 2006 - RISI today announced that their twenty-first North American Forest Products Conference will be held in Boston, Massachusetts, on October 4-6, 2006 at the Seaport Hotel.

This event will focus on how the North American forest products industry can respond to corporate restructuring and tight energy markets, and features panel discussions that will explore these important issues. In addition, RISI's team of economists will present their two-year forecasts for supply, demand, profitability, investment and trade for each major sector of the forest products market.

"This conference provides an annual forum for industry professionals from around the world to discuss important issues affecting their businesses," said Greg Lewis, senior economist at RISI and conference chair. "We look forward to a thought-provoking program that will provide insight into two of the year's most pressing industry topics: corporate restructuring and tight energy markets."

RISI's North American Conference hosts more than 200 attendees each year, many from the largest forest products producers in the world, as well as from major end users, suppliers and investors who rely on RISI forecasts when planning their budgets and business strategies.
