
Transport Symposium accepting abstracts for 2007 program
NEW YORK, N.Y., Nov. 13, 2006 (Press Release) - Transport Symposium show management invites forest products logistics professionals to submit an abstract for possible presentation at Transport Symposium 17. Transport Symposium is the industry's most comprehensive event dedicated to the transport, handling, and distribution of forest products. The 2007 program will take place October 15-17, 2007, at the Arthur R. Outlaw Convention Center in Mobile Bay, Alabama.
Transport Symposium 17 will feature panel discussions and speakers representing every corner of the forest products logistics industry, bringing together the sharpest minds to discuss key issues, trends, and technologies impacting the market. Presentations of a technical nature, covering management, marketing, international, or organizational aspects of the industry are all welcome. Promotional presentations, commercial advertisements, sales pitches, and the like are not appropriate for the Symposium. The Symposium Planning Committee is seeking presentations that closely examine trends and issues that drive today's forest products logistics marketplace. Topics of interest include, but are not restricted to:
Tomorrow's pulp and paper markets
Transportation and infrastructure
Environmental concerns
Printing and writing paper
Trucking - capacity and issues
Short sea prospects
Port security
Export opportunities
Containers vs. breakbulk
Impacts of outsourced production
Lumber and wood products outlook
Supply chain and distribution strategies
Industry forecasts and trends
The abstract should consist of approximately 150 words, outlining the proposed sessions. Each abstract should be written so that it is suitable for possible publication in promotional materials, and should be noncommercial in nature. Please include the subjects to be covered, the benefits to the attendees, and intended audiences for the session.
