RISI announces new CEO; company focus for 2007 is growth

BEDFORD, Mass., Dec. 1, 2006 (Press Release) - RISI, the leading information provider for the global forest products industry, today announced that John Day has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer effective January 1, 2007. He will replace Rod Young, who will continue working with RISI, both as Chairman of the Board and on a consulting basis.

Until his appointment, Day was Chief Financial Officer of CMP Media, the foremost technology and healthcare business-to-business media company, based in Manhasset, NY. Prior to that, he was CFO of CMP Asia in Hong Kong. As CFO he played a leading role in strategy development and implementation and was responsible for substantial support departments, as well as the finances of those businesses. Additionally, he was integral in acquiring well over a dozen businesses in Asia and in the US. Day was also formerly on RISI's Board of Directors.
