RISI introduces weekly price coverage of US recovered paper exports to Asia
BOSTON, MA, Jan. 23, 2009 - RISI, the leading provider of information for the global forest products industry, today announced new weekly price coverage of US exports of recovered paper to China.
Targeted towards buyers, sellers, investors and others involved in recovered paper markets, the prices are available weekly to subscribers of RISI's PPI Pulp & Paper Week, PPI Fiber and PPI Global services, for the following grades: mixed paper 2, ONP 8 and OCC 11 from Oakland, CA, Long Beach, CA and New York-New Jersey (in FAS levels per short ton) and CIF delivered to the main ports in China (in metric tonnes).
PPI Pulp & Paper Week editor Greg Rudder commented, "China has become a huge market for recovered paper exporters in the US; this year the US will export almost 11 million tonnes of recovered paper to China -- up from 1.0 million tonnes ten years ago. Transaction prices in this market can change frequently and our new weekly coverage will enable our clients to monitor these changes more closely."
He continued, "We have been reporting US recovered paper export prices to China for thirteen years in PPI Pulp & Paper Week, so we have extensive knowledge of the sector."
For customers who need prices for more recovered paper grades, RISI's PPI Pulp & Paper Week reports US export prices to China on a monthly basis for ONP 8, OCC, DLK, SOP and SWL as well as for "select" and double-sorted US OCC to Nhava Sheva port in India. Prices are FOB seller's dock, FAS and CIF.
