Arjowiggins employees seek green investments at Charavines mill in France, last week's strike ends

BRUSSELS , June 29, 2011 (RISI) -

Employees at Arjowiggins' Rives-sur-Fure and Charavines mills in southeastern France continue their fight to strengthen the position of one of the factories, asking that the company invest in biomass-based energy and technology to reduce water consumption at the Charavines mill.

Bruno Vignot, secretary of the works council, said the employees would like to see the Charavines mill become as "green" as possible. "We try to work for sustainable development. We think that is the only way to perpetuate Charavines," Vignot said.
