BRUSSELS , June 27, 2014 (RISI) -
Russian pulp and paper giant Arkhangelsk PPM (APPM) is progressing with its investment in a new biomass boiler at its mill in Novodvinsk in the Arkhangelsk region. The firm has started hydrostatic testing of the new equipment. In early July, APPM is set to begin trial runs.
The Valmet-supplied bubbling fluidized bed (BFB) power boiler is scheduled to come online in September. It will replace one of the mill’s existing coal boilers. The boiler will use bark and sludge as fuel and will have a capacity of 60 MWth.
