Brazilian bleached eucalyptus kraft (BEK) pulp exports in July soared by 19.5% to 945,000 tonnes over the same month of last year, according to the latest information released by the Brazilian Tree Industry (Ibá).
Pulp production increased by 7.5% to 1.37 million tonnes, while domestic sales grew by 13.4% to 161,000 tonnes and imports advanced by 13.5% to 42,000 tonnes. Due to the rise in exports, however, apparent consumption decreased by 10.1% to 474,000 tonnes from the 527,000 tonnes posted in July, 2013.
