Brazilian Iguaçu plans new 80,000 tonnes/yr kraft PM startup for September



SAO PAULO , Jan. 11, 2013 (RISI) - 

Brazilian packaging paper producer Iguaçu Celulose is working to conclude financing to start up a new 80,000 tonnes/yr kraft paper machine (PM) and two multiwall bag converting lines at its site located in Piraí do Sul city, Paraná state, in the second half of the year. The new PM, supplied by Voith, is expected to start producing by September, while converting lines, produced by Windmöller, will begin operation in November.

"Those combined investments total Real 200 million ($98.2 million) to be disbursed in 2013, but the company has a long term project that totals Real 457 million, which includes forest assets," confirmed the company's investor relations director, Felipe Cavalcanti.
