SAO PAULO , April 4, 2014 (RISI) -
Chilean group Empresas CMPC on Apr. 3 sent a notice to the market stating that it will increase its capital by $250 million to support the final stages of its 1.3 million tonnes/yr new bleached eucalyptus kraft (BEK) pulp line in Rio Grande do Sul state, Brazil. The move was planned since December 2012, when the company stated that it would raise its capital by up to $750 million in two stages.
In January 2013, CMPC's shareholders approved the first $500 million stock issue. The new capital increase will now be decided upon by shareholders in a meeting on Apr. 22.
