SAN FRANCISCO , Feb. 27, 2013 (RISI) -
Canfor Pulp announced to US customers today that it would increase northern bleached softwood kraft (NBSK) pulp prices by $30/tonne, effective April 1, industry contacts told RISI. In addition, the firm set $20-30/tonne price increases in China and Europe for March business.
Vancouver-headquartered Canfor Pulp's $30/tonne increase on premium reinforcement NBSK would increase its US list price to $930/tonne beginning Apr. 1 - a month after offshore prices are to increase. Its US hike is the first such move for April business and comes during a time when various producers are still announcing their Mar. 1 prices.
