Chinese pulp imports climb 5.0% from April to May; year-to-date intake grows 4.7% compared to 2013



SINGAPORE , July 1, 2014 (RISI) - 

China's total pulp imports went up 5.0% in May from April, to almost 1.446 million tonnes, according to data from China Customs (see table below).

The May intake of both bleached softwood and hardwood kraft pulp (BSK and BHK) saw a month-on-month improvement, with the former edging up 1.3% to 548,672 tonnes and the latter rising 3.9% to 533,268 tonnes.
