(PPI Pulp & Paper Week) -
Georgia-Pacific (G-P), the third largest North American producer by capacity, informed customers on Feb. 21 of a $50/ton price hike on containerboard in the USA effective with orders Mar. 1, according the customers. The company also reportedly announced a 10% national price hike on corrugated boxes for Apr. 1.
The price increase is the first to be announced by a producer for this spring and follows closely on the heels of last September's successful $50/ton price increase on linerboard and corrugating medium in the USA.
