VANCOUVER, BC , May 5, 2009 (RISI) - Chemical market pulp demand growth to China averaged about 1 million tonnes/month from producers worldwide during the first quarter 2009, a 53% gain from year-ago results and making it the only growth market this year, said Kevin McElhatton, pres/CEO of the Pulp and Paper Products Council (PPPC) today at International Pulp Week in Vancouver, BC.
