Will supervises overall market and price coverage for PPI Pulp & Paper Week based on several decades of experience writing about pulp, paper and packaging markets. Will served as Editor of PP Pulp & Paper Week for 18 years and then as Group Publisher of Miller Freemans pulp and paper industry publications and events prior to the formation of RISI. He has covered nearly every major pulp, paper and packaging market sector since the launch of PPI Pulp and Paper Week in 1979. Will holds a Masters degree in Journalism from Stanford University.
Greg Rudder, Editor, Recovered Paper and Tissue
Greg possesses significant insight into US exports of recovered paper to China, India and Mexico. He instituted RISIs price coverage for recovered paper and for several other grades. Greg has served as the lead editor for PPI Pulp & Paper Week, covering the industry since January 2011. During this time, he has interviewed 50 CEOs; visited 30 paper mills and converting & recycling centers in the US, Canada, and Mexico; presented to 25 different trade groups, companies, and organizations, including Proctor & Gamble and Kraft Foods. Greg produces news briefs that cover key events in the end user markets that impact paper and board makers as well as converters. Notable companies he follows include: Walmart, Target, Procter & Gamble, Dollar Stores, Starbucks, Staples, USG, Kelloggs and Gannett. Greg holds a Bachelors in Journalism from Seaver College.
Chris Cook, Deputy Editor, Newsprint, Coated, Uncoated Mechanical (PPI Pulp & Paper Week); Executive Editor (PPI Latin America)
Chris provides analysis and commentary on North American markets for newsprint, coated papers and uncoated mechanical grades and editorial oversight for RISIs Latin American bureau. Chris is a lifelong journalist and with more than 20 years covering business and finance, the past eight of which have been spent covering the North American paper industry.
James McLaren, Senior News Editor, Boxboard (PPI Pulp & Paper Week); Editor, RISI Global Online News
Jim provides market analysis and price reporting on the North American boxboard market across four key grades: unbleached and bleached kraft, and coated and uncoated recycled. As online editor, he oversees RISIs daily news coverage of the global pulp and paper industry. Jim began his journalism career at The Record newspaper in northern New Jersey and has worked as a paper industry reporter since 1989 when he started at Miller Freeman. He co-launched International Woodfiber Report in 1995 and PPI Asia in Singapore in 1998.
Mark Arzoumanian, Senior News Editor, Paperboard Packaging, Recovered Paper
Mark provides market analysis and commentary on the paperboard packaging and recovered paper industries. He has visited dozens of corrugated container and folding carton converting plants throughout the world over the past 33 years. Mark also serves as Executive Editor of Paperboard Packaging magazine and was the Editor in Chief of Official Board Markets (the Yellow Sheet) prior to its merging with PPI Pulp & Paper Week in 2012.
Bryan Smith, Deputy Editor, Global Pulp
Bryan provides market analysis and commentary on the North American market pulp industry and export markets, and helps lead RISIs editorial coverage of pulp globally. He founded additional price coverage and indexing of US spot markets in the US East and Midwest, and founded PPI Pulp. Bryan has covered the global pulp industry since joining RISI (then Paperloop) in 2000. Prior to joining RISI, Bryan covered business and general interest news for the Associated Press, Reno Gazette-Journal, and PC World.
