SCA Hygiene Products buys Voith-supplied 60,000 tonnes/yr tissue machine for Kostheim plant in Germany

HEIDENHEIM, Germany, Jan. 31, 2012 (Press Release) - SCA Hygiene Products GmbH has commissioned Voith Paper with the supply of a tissue machine in Central Europe. The new TM 5 line will be installed at the Kostheim site near Mainz, Germany, and delivered in a comprehensive Process Line Package design.

Beside the TM 5 with its 18-feet Yankee cylinder (diameter: 5,486 mm) Voith Paper delivers an UltraHood high performance drying hood and the entire electrification and automation system. In the area of stock preparation the new IntensaPulper for highest energy efficiency will be used. All services, the entire engineering package as well as the entire clothing complete the scope of supply.

The TM 5 is of double width (wire width: 5,500 mm) and will produce some 60,000 metric tons per year of high-quality tissue paper at a basis weight of 20.5 g/m². The start-up is scheduled for spring 2013.
