Bellmer to modernize board machine for Schumacher Packaging in Schwarzenberg, Germany

Kartonagen Schwarzenberg GmbH, located in the small, picturesque village of Schwarzenberg in Saxony, has recently changed its name to Schumacher Packaging GmbH Werk Schwarzenberg. The company's product line comprises all types of packaging in corrugated and solid paperboard in grey, brown and white for food and non-food use. The Schwarzenberg plant merged with the Schumacher group of companies in 2009, and an extensive investment plan has been set in motion to secure Schwarzenberg's future. For the current investment phase, the owners have opted to modernize the board machine and extend the "white line" in cooperation with Bellmer.

In addition to a new stock preparation system for the white top layer, the scope of supply includes the approach flow and a completely new wet section. Stock distribution will be performed by 10 EQUALCircler circular distributors, two of which will be equipped with EQUALDiluter technology to optimise the CD profile using dilution water. In addition, 9 special formers from the EQUALFlower range will be used to optimize initial sheet formation. An EQUALFlower Pro will be integrated, dedicated to the top layer to enhance printability.

The press section will feature short draws and large roll diameters to achieve gentle dewatering and ensure a top quality finished product.
