POM Technology introduces portable manual gas content tester

HELSINKI, Aug. 25, 2010 (Press Release) - Based on its' long-term professional experiences measuring air in process flow and solving the air problems by degassing technology, POM Technology has developed a portable manual gas content tester: the POM GasMaster. The GasMaster measures entrained, dissolved and total gas content according to expansion (Boadway) method. The robust POM GasMaster is easy to move from place to place in order to evaluate the air content level in whole process.

When producing paper, tissue or paperboard it is important to know the gas content level in wet end - not only in case of reported air related problems. There are lot of problems that can be caused by air: MD basis weight variation, poor cleanliness, poor retention and dewatering. Elimination of air in papermaking process results in improved paper quality and wet end stability.
