Parsons Reiss rebuilds tissue machine for Fourstones Paper Mill in the UK

MANCHESTER, UK, March 30, 2009 (Press Release) - Manchester-based engineering company, Parsons Reiss, has been commissioned to complete a £200,000 rebuild of a tissue machine for the Fourstones Paper Mill.

This significant investment by the 245 year-old mill will include the installation of a re-engineered cantilevered fourdrinier section, originally built in 1997 by Parsons Reiss, and a new press felt transfer section.

Parsons Reiss managing director, Chris Wright, says: "It is really good to see this cantilevered fourdrinier being put back into good use, particularly in a UK-based mill. This project will result in even better energy-savings, quality and runability for Fourstones and importantly, demonstrates that manufacturing in the UK can survive or indeed, grow with the right investment and business stewardship."
