Papierfabrik Louisenthal orders new paper machine from Bellmer

NIEFERN-ÖSCHELBRONN, Germany, May 16, 2008 (Press Release) - Papierfabrik Louisenthal GmbH, a subsidiary of the Giesecke & Devrient Group, is about to build a new paper machine at the mill in Königstein, Saxony.

The Königstein Team can look back on a long tradition in the making of high-quality papers. The new machine is a common challenge for the Saxon papermakers since an ambitious time frame has to be implemented.

Papierfabrik Louisenthal and Bellmer have been cooperating on a trustful basis for several decades. Together, numerous projects have successfully been performed in our domestic market as well as the international marketplace. The process know-how of Papierfabrik Louisenthal combined with the specialised expertise in paper machine building of Bellmer lead to the stimulating impulses that ensure optimum solutions for the sensitive papers.

Therefore, Bellmer has been awarded the order for the supply of the new special paper machine. According to Papierfabrik Louisenthal this cylinder paper machine will be the fastest and most advanced of its kind throughout the world. It will provide enhanced productivity and more flexibility.

The paper machine will be equipped with a cylinder mould former EQUALFlower™ with circular distributor EQUALCircler™. An up-to-date press section with compact suction press will take care of gentle treatment of the top class special papers.

The Bellmer scope of supply also includes a 2-roll twin calender made by Bellmer';s partner, the company of GapCon.

Since the very sensitive papers require state-of-the-art reeling technology, the Bellmer reeler EQUALReelerPro™ will be equipped with center winding.

Bellmer signed as general contractor and has furthermore assumed the responsibility for the machine engineering.

Peripheral components such as central circulating oil lubrication and mechanical drive elements, will be supplied through the Bellmer partner AS Antriebstechnik.

Coordination of erection and the complete mounting process will be in the proven hands of the Bellmer specialists.

Production startup is scheduled for end of 2009.
