Ecopaper starts up Toscotec shoe press at Romania mill

LUCCA, Italy, May 07, 2008 (Press Release) - On February, 29th, 2008 Ecopaper successfully started up the TT-Shoe Press supplied by Toscotec and installed on PM6 at its Zarnesti mill (Romania).

Ecopaper is market leader in Romania for packaging papers and currently operates two mills in Braila and in Zarnesti.

Thanks to this investment, Ecopaper strengthens it position of technological and quality reference for Liner, Fluting and Schrenz papers in the eastern Europe.

After this upgrading, Zarnesti PM6 produces Fluting and Test Liner with a net width of 5 meters, with basis weights between 80 and 175 g/m2 and an operating speed of 600 mpm.

The installation was completed within the scheduled time and the targeted performances where readily achieved: output increase and improvement of the mechanical characteristics of the paper in excess of 20% (CD RCT and CD SCT).

Thanks to the double raw of hydraulic cylinders with variable tilt, to the hybrid performance (hydrostatic and hydrodynamic) and to the extended nip, the TT Shoe Press represents today's State of the Art in this specific field.
