Andritz to supply stock prep for SCA Laakirchen deink expansion

GRAZ, Austria, April 29, 2008 (Press Release) - International technology group Andritz received an order from SCA Graphic Laakirchen AG for supply of stock preparation equipment for an expansion of the existing deinking plant at the Laakirchen mill in Austria. The pulp is used to produce magazine paper (SC gravure and offset). The order also covers installation supervision, start-up, and training. The start-up is scheduled for February 2009.

Each of two thickening lines in the deinking plant will be equipped with an additional Andritz disc filter (type DF57) and a twin wire press (2.8 m working width and five press nips) to achieve maximum dryness and increase the lines' capacities.

SCA Graphic Laakirchen AG has operated several Andritz disc filters and twin wire presses in the deinking plant and groundwood line for many years. The excellent workmanship and high operational reliability of the Andritz machines were decisive in selecting Andritz for this follow-up order.
