Arbumprom starts up new BM in Armenia

BRUSSELS, June 20, 2008 (RISI) - Arbumprom has brought a new board machine on stream at its facility in Yerevan, Armenia.

The unit was supplied by the Chinese company Hubei Jingshan. It has a trim width of 1.40 m and can manufacture 9,000 tonnes/yr of testliner and fluting. But according to a spokesman at Arbumprom, the actual production volume will hardly exceed 3,000 tonnes/yr due to difficulties with collecting recovered paper in the country.

Arbumprom plans to convert paperboard at its two corrugating lines and sell the output in the Armenian market.
