Cascades announces new investment at Blendecques mill

PARIS, Jan. 14, 2008 (Press Release) - Cascades Blendecques is a unit producing recycled fibres board for folding cartons based near Saint-Omer, France. The mill sources French as well as international markets and its products are converted for food or non-food packaging end uses.

With a nearly 160,000 t yearly production the Cascades Blendecques industrial challenge is to optimise its processes in order to assure the best competitive position within its market.

End 2007, Cascades invested about Euro 1.8 millions dedicated to the half-open hood to be replaced by a new closed hood installed on machine 5. This will allow the optimisation of energy efficiency on the consumed vapour as well as the improvement of its production capacity.

It is an important investment for Cascades Blendecques' mill very much dedicated to the reduction of the energy consumption and to the environmental protection. The quality control, sustainable growth follow up associated with a constant innovation remains at the heart of the mill's strategy.
