Dow Chemical increases prices for emulsion polymers for paper and paperboard in North America

MIDLAND, MI, April 01, 2008 (Press Release) - Effective April 15, 2008, or as contracts permit, The Dow Chemical Company is increasing prices by US$0.10/lb (dry) for all styrene butadiene (S/B) latex products sold by Dow Emulsion Polymers to customers in the United States and Canada serving the paper and paperboard industry.

The price increase is required to help offset the continued rising costs of hydrocarbons and raw materials such as benzene, styrene and butadiene used to manufacture products.

Dow Emulsion Polymers is dedicated to providing the paper and paperboard industry with the widest and most innovative range of styrene butadiene and styrene acrylate latex technologies and is the leading manufacturer of S/B latex and solid plastic pigments that are used in coatings for fine papers, publication papers and coated paperboard used in packaging.
