Kemira announces sodium chlorate price increases in North America

KENNESAW, Georgia, May 9, 2008 (Press Release) - Effective immediately or as terms permit, Kemira Pulp & Paper will increase pricing of all grades of sodium chlorate by $50 per ton in North America.

"This is a necessary response to cost increases in the manufacturing of sodium chlorate; specifically, increases in energy and electricity costs in late 2007 and early 2008," says Raul Aizcorbe, General Manager of Kemira Finnchem USA Inc. "In addition, we have been impacted by increases in other major areas of raw materials and transportation. These costs increases are now at historical levels across the board. This price increase is vital to ensure long term sustainable supply to our customers."
