MarquipWardUnited installs new sheeter at Green Bay Packaging plant

PHILLIPS, WI, April 2, 2008 (Press Release) - MarquipWardUnited, a leading manufacturer of precision sheeting equipment for the paper and paperboard converting industry, has announced the successful installation of a new SheetRunnerTM sheeter at Green Bay Packaging in De Pere, Wis.

The new MarquipWardUnited SheetRunnerTM is a high-performance board sheeter directed at high-volume folding carton plants. It offers continuous run capability utilizing a bow-tie splicer and plastic chain outfeed conveyors with automatic load discharge. In combination with heavy-duty sheet delivery via Soft NipTM snubber wheels and the latest PC-based control system, these features make the rugged SheetRunnerTM the preferred choice for the high-volume carton application.

This SheetRunnerTM installation is part of a major expansion by the folding carton division of Green Bay Packaging (GBP), which also includes the nearly completed construction of an 180,000-square-foot carton plant in De Pere, Wis. The new facility is located on 20 acres in the De Pere Industrial Park and includes a state-of-the-art design center and increased manufacturing space.

The major expansion project at the De Pere facility is a result of ongoing sales growth for GBP. Also, the SheetRunnerTM being a key component of the expansion, it allows GBP to prepare for continued future growth. Once again, GBP chose to partner with MarquipWardUnited, which has been a longtime supplier to the company, sharing the same commitment to high-quality standards.

The MarquipWardUnited SheetRunnerTM is replacing an old single-knife sheeter as part of GBP's continued efforts to bring all of its sheeting production in-house.
