MarquipWardUnited installs second sheeter at Iggesund Découpe France
FRANKFURT, Germany, March 28, 2008 (Press Release) - MarquipWardUnited, a leading producer of precision sheeting, finishing and corrugating machinery, has completed the successful installation of a MarquipWardUnited SheetPro sheeter at Iggesund Découpe France S.A., a member of the Holmen Group. This will be the second MarquipWardUnited sheeter installed at the Iggesund plant in Portes-les-Valence, France, which performs high-quality just-in-time board sheeting.
The MarquipWardUnited SheetPro sheeter is equipped to sheet one or two reels of board simultaneously, with diameter capacity up to 2130mm. As with all MarquipWardUnited sheeters, the SheetPro is capable of producing clean cuts with up to 1000gsm and offers the ability to sharpen knives without removal from the machine. Both features were significant factors in Iggesund's decision to purchase a second sheeter from MarquipWardUnited.
Another major factor in Iggesund's selection is the MarquipWardUnited patented Dual Vac overlapping system, which allows boards with sensitive surfaces to be run at far higher speeds without marking. This system will also be retrofitted onto the plant's existing sheeter, which has been running successfully for more than seven years.
Because the new sheeter is central to the company's ability to meet the rigorous production needs of its clients, Iggesund required a supplier that would share its commitment to fast and efficient service. MarquipWardUnited employs 19 service technicians in Europe and maintains a parts warehouse in Frankfurt that is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, providing Iggesund with added confidence in their continued partnership.
In addition to the two installations in France, MarquipWardUnited also recently completed the successful upgrade of an existing Jagenberg sheeter at the Iggesund mill in Sweden. This upgrade included the replacement of a slitting section, cross-cut knife section, overlap section and complete controls.
