Metso to supply fine paper machine to Fujian Nanping Paper in China


   

JYVASKYLA, Finland, April 16, 2008 (Press Release) - Metso Paper will supply a fine paper machine to Fujian Nanping Paper Co., Ltd. in China. The start-up of the production is scheduled for the second half of 2009. The value of the order is around EUR 50 million. The order is included in the second quarter 2008 orders received.

Metso's delivery will include a complete paper machine from headbox to reel, with related air systems. Metso Automation will supply quality management system including CD/MD controls.

The paper machine PM 6 will have a wire width of 5.8 m and a design speed of 1,400 m/min. It will produce close to 800 tonnes of uncoated fine paper per day.

Fujian Nanping Paper is one of the largest paper producers in the Fujian province. The company currently operates three paper machines at Nanping millsite with an annual paper making capacity of around 300,000 tonnes. The Metso supplied PM 5, started up in 1999, was the first OptiConcept paper machine ever built.
