Orange County Container installs new finishing machine

TIJUANA, Mexico, April 03, 2008 (Press Release) - Corrugados De Baja California, a division of Orange County Container Corporation, has recently installed one of North America's largest and most versatile finishing machines. The Rapidex RapidSet Jumbo is a 66 x 177", 4/color Flexo Folder- Gluer configured with dual slotting sections, an inline diecutter and a drying system. The press utilizes servo motors throughout and gives operators full set-up while running capability.

According to Michael Feterik, Orange County Container's President and CEO, "We've been running jumbo boxes on an older machine but this plant had added so much business and become so busy that we simply needed to add another Jumbo."

"It all came down to two factors, set-up times and run speed," reported Greg Hall, Orange County Container's COO. "The RapidSet allows us to set-up the next job while running, resulting in an enormous jump in productivity. It's also the fastest of any of the machines at which we looked. Martin/Rapidex's willingness to guarantee its run speed was a key factor in our decision."

The Corrugados plant serves a variety of customer categories including electronics, appliances, medical and home improvement-related products. One of the company's largest segments of business is the TV industry. "Since so many big screen TVs are manufactured in Mexico -- JVC, Samsung, LG, Sanyo, and so on -- a high percentage of our business is labeled as well as direct printed boxes for large screen TVs," stated Feterik.

"Whether it's a 2, 3 or 4 color process, spot label or full label -- from very small to enormous boxes, we pride ourselves on being able to run just what the customer needs. This new machine will enable us to take our proven business model to the next level."
