PMT to install new shoe press for FP Innovations-Paprican


   

PINEROLO, Italy, May 6, 2008 (Press Release) - The Canadian Paper Technology Research Centre FP Innovations-Paprican will update in November 2008 its pilot machine in Montreal with a rebuild of the press section by the American Company Paperchine including the installation of a new SMARNIP® Shoe Press Module by PMT Italia with a maximum nip load of 1500 kN/m.

The FP Innovations-Paprican's pilot machine can produce for different research purposes several paper grades between 30 and 110 g/m2 in a sheet width of 400 mm. The press section up-grade is part of a paper machine speed-up project to achieve 1500 m/min, with a future speed of 2500 m/min.
