Vacon and Voith sign global cooperation agreement


   

VAASA, Finland, May 28, 2008 (Press Release) - The Finland-based AC drives manufacturer Vacon has signed a global cooperation agreement with Voith Paper Automation, one of the seven Voith Paper divisions, which supplies comprehensive automation solutions for the paper industry. Headquartered in Germany, Voith Paper Automation has chosen Vacon as their preferred AC drives supplier for their paper machine deliveries worldwide.

"The pulp and paper industry is one of Vacon’s strategic key business segments. Voith is a world-famous brand, and we are very pleased to be able to strengthen our cooperation with Voith Paper Automation operating globally. Vacon will not only supply AC drives to the paper machines delivered by Voith Paper Automation, we will also cooperate in terms of technological development," says Heikki Hiltunen, Executive Vice President, Vacon.

Vacon will supply Voith Paper Automation with AC drives for use in paper machine applications. Vacon offers a complete range of variable speed AC drives that cover a wide application area, everything from simple pump drives to demanding system drives, thus improving processes in terms of runnability, efficiency and quality.
