Voith breaks ground at new service center site in Southern China


   

HEIDENHEIM, Germany, May 21, 2008 (Press Release) - On April 18th, Voith Paper Rolls celebrated the ground breaking ceremony of their new service center in Nansha, Southern China's Guangzhou. It will open in March 2009. The new service center is strategically located in Nansha, with good logistic access to the fast developing Southern Chinese paper industry. In Nansha, high quality roll covers and roll service for all roll dimensions will be offered.

The ground breaking ceremony was attended by Luo Zhaoci, Governor of Nansha, Guangzhou, alongside other city officials. Robert Kietaibl, Senior Vice President of Voith Paper Rolls Asia, revealed that initially the new service center will offer a full range of rubber roll covers, mechanical roll service and roll cover regrinding, while it will expand into the roll covers manufacturing area for polyurethane and composite roll covers in a second phase.

In May 2003, Voith Paper Rolls started to serve the Chinese and Asia/Pacific paper industry with high-end roll covers, mechanical roll services and roll cover regrinding out of its service facilities in Kunshan and Dongying. The quality witnessed resulted in immediate Asian-wide recognition in the Paper Industry and established a brand name for reliability and first class quality. The demand for first class service has grown extensively over the last few years. This made it easy for Voith to decide to establish its third manufacturing service center in China.
