Alberta school switches students from paper to electronic writing tablets [From the web]

EDMONTON, Jan. 9, 2012 (Local News) - A Mill Woods elementary school has cut its paper costs nearly in half by having students write on Boogie Boards instead of paper, says the school's principal.

Now, the success of Boogie Boards at St. Richard elementary school is prompting other schools to start using the electronic writing tablets, Jeff Fillion said.

"Our goal was to save 10 per cent of our paper costs. We ended up saving 40 per cent. It was huge," Fillion said. Although Boogie Boards were expensive to begin with, "students are still using them a year and a half later and we're still saving paper."
