(Business Wire) -
Cintas Corporation today announced that Chrysler Group LLC will implement the Cintas SmartShred program in its Auburn Hills, Mich., headquarters. To roll-out the program, Cintas will place 1,800 new secure shredding bins throughout Chrysler's facility to enable employees to easily and safely destroy sensitive business and personal documents. An additional 625 shredding bins are in the process of being placed throughout the remaining 49 Chrysler North American facilities.
Using the new program, employees can drop documents that need to be destroyed and/or recycled in one of Cintas' locked document bins located in every department throughout the facility. Documents will be securely removed and destroyed by a certified Cintas employee on a routine basis. All the shredded paper is then recycled and made into secondary paper products such as paper towels and cups. In doing so, Chrysler saves trees, energy and gallons of water while keeping customer and business information protected.
"We are excited to partner with Chrysler to provide our secure document management services," said Karen Carnahan, President and COO of Cintas Document Management. "Using our SmartShredTM program, all confidential information will be securely destroyed and recycled to help Chrysler remain compliant with industry standards and reduce its environmental footprint."
