(Press Release) -
Metso continues to set the standards for inline chemical, color and conductivity measurements to provide the total scope for process control. The new kajaaniPOLAROX5 and kajaaniCORMEC5 are the result of Metso's ongoing development of inline sensors for pulp bleaching, brightness and color control solutions. Representing the fifth generation of Metso's successful sensor family, they link decades of experience with the newest smart platform technology, efficient communication standards and diagnostics tools (DTM) common to other Metso sensors and transmitters. The new mechanical designs have dimensions and features fully compatible with previous installations, but also many improvements for even more cost effective applications in various types of process conditions. With higher process pressure standards and smaller dimensions plus the classified safety specifications, the new sensors deliver outstanding performance for the best results in measurement and control.
Applications for kajaaniCORMEC5 include Kraft and mechanical pulping brightness measurements and bleaching controls, DIP/RCF brightness, color and ERIC measurements, stock prep color monitoring and mineral slurry brightness monitoring. The faster measurement speed, custom-made light source and detector assembly together with diagnostic controls for optical signal stability provide unrivaled accuracy. The kajaaniPOLAROX5 linear electrochemical measurement features automatic electrode cleaning, high stability ensured by self diagnostics and continuous electronic condition monitoring. It provides versatile chemical residual measurements for control applications in Kraft pulp bleaching and residual neutralization, mechanical pulp bleaching and DIP/RCF bleaching.
Kemotron, the well-known conductivity measurement brand acquired by Metso in 2008, is an essential part of Metso's inline sensor portfolio. Having achieved mill standard status in many demanding pulp, paper and process industry applications, Kemotron also has a strong role in critical conductivity measurement applications for the chemical, power, pharmaceutical and food industries.
