Stephenson launches new deinking chemical for paper recycling industry

WEST YORKSHIRE, UK, July 29, 2009 (Press Release) - Stephenson Recycling Chemicals, part of the specialist chemicals manufacturer The Stephenson Group, has created a new cost-saving innovation for the paper recycling industry that dramatically reduces the amount of chemicals used in the process.

Serfax SLR effectively de-inks paper by sticking to the printed ink and removing it. It delivers optimum performance even in low quantities and requires minimal investment in new application equipment.

The chemical is suitable for a range of paper products including newsprint, tissue, linerboard and white grades.

Following an effective trial in a leading German recycling mill, Serfax SLR is now being marketed to the paper recycling industry around the globe.

Over the last 30 years, has become one of the largest suppliers of de-inking chemicals serving markets all over the world. Its laboratory in Leeds is utilised for product development and customer trials and features the latest laboratory flotation cells, image analysis and optical measurement equipment.

This latest innovation joins Stephenson's portfolio of de-inking products including the use of fatty acids, fatty acid soaps and liquid chemicals. Each of the products is designed to meet the range of requirements of de-inking plants.
